A Man Close to Our Hearts: Fabian
Fabian is from the Bregenzerwald region, works as a civil engineering foreman, loves nature and being outdoors – and since this summer, he’s been a proud dad to little Jasmin. But just one month after his daughter’s birth, a tragic cycling accident changed everything. After a helicopter rescue and emergency surgery, it became clear: Fabian is paralyzed from the waist down. Following a long hospital stay, he is still in rehabilitation, currently in Bad Häring, Tyrol. Life with a spinal cord injury means having to relearn many things – simple, everyday tasks like getting dressed, taking a shower, and managing daily life independently.
Help Where It’s Needed Most
While Fabian tirelessly works to regain as much independence as possible, step by step, his wife Veronika bears all the responsibility at home on her own. But the two of them stay strong – with lots of love, courage, and optimism. One big blessing: Fabian’s employer, Erich Moosbrugger Bau, fully supports him and will ensure he can continue working there in the future. Still, they need support – for example, to adapt their home to be wheelchair-accessible or to purchase a modified car.
